Morell Squares (Sweet Cherry)

Ingredients

150 g white chocolate
225 g butter
300 g flour
5 smal eggs
300 g white sugar
300 g brown sugar
1 vanilla bean
1 undefined lemon zest
225 g Morell sweet cherries, halved and pitted
225 g pistachios
150 g white chocolate

Steps

Preparation

• Melt the white chocolate and let it cool slightly.
• Cream butter, sugars, vanilla, and lemon zest until light.
• Gradually add eggs one at a time, alternating with flour.
• Add melted white chocolate.
• Fold in half of the pistachios, additional white chocolate, and cherries.
• Pour batter into a greased, parchment-lined baking dish.
• Smooth the top and sprinkle the remaining pistachios and white chocolate over.
• Bake at 175°C for about 20 minutes.
• Cool thoroughly before cutting into squares.
